Sky Lanigan for Medium Plenty
Berkeley, CA
2015
This vintage Berkeley Modern hillside house had good bones but needed some serious love and attention. Decluttering the details amplified the strong geometries of the house. Rich textures of wood, raw plaster, concrete and blackened steel catch the play of light. Walls were removed to visually connect spaces and allow the abundant daylight to suffuse the space. We had a real collaborator in our client, an important Bay Area craftsman deeply engaged with the play of form and material.
